Ruby on Rails Engineer
We’re looking for someone who approaches troubleshooting with a surgeon’s precision. If solving technical puzzles is what keeps you engaged, you’ll feel right at home here!
We usually respond within three days
Do you care about making an impact on sustainability?
Help consumers and brands better understand their environmental impact and make better choices for the planet! 🌎
About the product:
You’ll be joining a team working on a Ruby on Rails monolith that powers a growing product - stable in its foundation yet full of opportunities to evolve. The setup gives you space to explore different layers of the stack: from crafting clean backend logic in Rails, to occasionally touching the frontend with Tailwind and Stimulus.
Our infrastructure lives in AWS, with Datadog and Terraform helping us keep things reliable and transparent. It’s a great environment for someone who enjoys seeing how all the pieces connect: backend, frontend, and cloud - and wants to keep growing as a full-stack engineer without the pressure of being an expert in everything from day one.
How do we work? 🏡
Remote-first approach: We work from anywhere in Poland or at our Łódź office. The choice is yours!
Salary: 130 - 190 PLN + VAT (B2B) per hour

Your daily work:
- Fix bugs and optimize performance – identify and resolve issues to keep the application stable and efficient.
- Ensure system reliability – monitor performance, handle incidents through a clear triage process, and help maintain SLA compliance.
- Improve product performance – address technical debt, streamline the release process, and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
You’ll spend your days collaborating closely with our clients and partners - it’s a hands-on role where communication matters as much as code.
- 100% of your work will be connected to supporting clients and partners.
- Around 50% of your time will go into understanding and gathering information about their issues.
- Another 40% will be spent on debugging, investigating problems, and delivering fixes through pull requests.
It’s the kind of role where you get to see your impact quickly - helping people, improving the product, and keeping things running smoothly.
Why join us? 🌟
- At DNA Technology, we believe in clear communication - we regularly talk about what works and what doesn’t, and how we can make things better (not just in code).
- Private healthcare, a multisport card, and regular “how are you doing?” check-ins are part of our routine.
- Your development is extremely important to us! You can count on individual growth sessions to support you on your unique professional journey.
- We don’t do layers of management. Everyone has a voice and real influence on how we work.
What are we looking for? 🎯
- At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, including several years working with Ruby on Rails.
- Curiosity-driven troubleshooting
- A sense of ownership and curiosity to understand how things work
- Clear and partnership-based communication – you’ll work directly with clients and partners daily, so clarity, empathy, and transparency in communication are key.
- Professional English communication skills – you feel comfortable discussing technical topics and solutions with clients in English, both in writing and during calls.
- Availability for an on-call week once a month – you’ll join a rotating 24/7 support schedule (one week per month). These hours are additionally compensated and give you the chance to get to know the product from a different angle - ensuring reliability when it matters most.

Why work with us
-
You may hear it frequently from leaders at DNA that they would like to attract people smarter than themselves. Leaders at DNA feel responsible for creating an environment in which self-motivated people build teams that are able to create great things.
-
The source of productivity comes from a team having clearly defined autonomy and responsibility, not from micro-managing people.
-
We believe that diversity and psychological safety at work matter — we get proofs of that everyday.
-
Usually, the problems we are trying to solve are complex (not complicated). Frequently, it means that we follow the Agile process and build our organisation according to the DevOps model.
Join a team with great autonomy and responsibility. The team discusses business priorities with the Product Owner, defines architecture, technology stack, way of working, takes pride in engineering craftsmanship and is end-to-end responsible for the solution.
